Our exciting year is drawing to a close, but still lots of exciting things happening in A Colony!
Fist of all, this Tuesday we are very excited to host a guest speaker. John form the Canadian Guide Dogs will join us with his dog Amigo to tell us what guide dogs do and how Amigo helps him. Parents and siblings are invited to attend.
The following week will be our last regular meeting in the gym because on Tuesday, May 13th we will meet at Fun Haven on for our end-of-year celebration. Beavers will enjoy games, pizza and loads of fun. All costs are covered by A Colony.
The 1st Manotick Scouts group will host the annual moving up BBQ and celebration at Claudette Cain Park on Wednesday, May 21st. There will be games and a free family BBQ. If you and your family wish to attend please RSVP to your leaders this week so we can get our total number to the planning committee.
Finally, there will be an All Sections Outdoor Camping from May 23-25, 2104 at Morrison Island, Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary (St. Lawrence River Parks). The cost is $25/person for one night and $30/person for both nights. This cost includes the campground fee, food, activities and a crest. To register or learn more please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This Tuesday is Earth Day and the Beavers are celebrating by heading outdoors to explore the Mer Bleue Bog Trail, a 1.2 km interpretive boardwalk. Let's meet in the parking lot at 6:30 to start the nature walk. The trail loops back to the parking lot, so feel free to catch up if you arrive a few minutes late. Please find the directions from St. Jerome school below.
UPDATE: Radar Map shows the rain system leaving the Mer Belue area this afternoon. So we will continue with today's hike. Just remember to wear appropriate outdoor clothing as there still maybe some very minor precipitation, though we are not expecting any!
Tuesday (April 8) we will all meet at St Jerome (changed from St. FX) for a drive-in movie night at 6:15pm with all the local Beavers! Bring your decorated boxes. White Tails can make their "car" at home or bring a blanket to enjoy the show. Thanks!
